Acclaimed guitarist Slash files for divorce

On Behalf of | Jan 5, 2015 | Divorce |

A musician best known for his bombastic performance style as lead guitar player for the acclaimed rock band Guns ‘n Roses is ending a 13-year marriage, according to local sources. Connecticut music fans will immediately recognize the iconic Slash, also known as Saul Hudson, who has filed for divorce in a court local to him and his estranged wife. The documents were filed at the very end of the 2014 calendar year.

Slash and his wife, Perla Hudson, have been married since 2001, but the marriage has had troubles before. Slash previously filed for divorce in 2010, citing irreconcilable differences, but apparently dropped the filing sometime thereafter. He filed a second time on Dec. 30, 2014, though the couple has apparently been separated since June.

The couple has two children together — a 10-year-old son and 12-year-old son. As minors, under the law, these children are still considered the responsibility of both Slash and his wife, and therefore child custody and support may become an issue in the couple’s divorce proceedings. Very little public information has been released about the details of the split, which will likely also involve substantial asset division considering Slash’s rock star status.

Whether a couple chooses to divorce in the limelight or in their own front room, the repercussions can be far-reaching. Connecticut residents who have experienced divorce understand how important an equitable and relatively amicable settlement can be, particularly where children are concerned. Thankfully, a plethora of support for divorcing couples is available throughout this state, including emotional counseling and legal counsel.
