Many families in Connecticut are struggling with a recent or prospective divorce. For many people, it is not an easy decision to split up and it’s not something that people take lightly. But while some people see a divorce as the end of something, others hope to start fresh and focus on looking forward to a new life after a breakup.
This is likely the case for the now ex-wife of Chad Johnson. Johnson, who changed his last name from Ochocinco earlier this year, has played for the Cincinnati Bengals and New England Patriots, so he has taken some hard hits during his time in the NFL. However, his recent divorce from Evelyn Lozada may be the hardest hit yet.
After allegations that Johnson assaulted her, Lozada immediately left Johnson and filed for a divorce. The couple had been married for just over one month. Since his arrest, Johnson has been released from his team, the Miami Dolphins, and had his reality show on VH1 cancelled. He says he is seeking counseling for his anger issues and has been very vocal about how upset he is over his divorce. He even had Lozada’s face tattooed onto his leg.
However, he eventually agreed to the divorce, which was finalized earlier this week. The terms of the divorce are unspecified, but the couple had a 40-page prenuptial agreement in place which means that the divorce will likely be governed by what is in that agreement.
Lozada, on the other hand, has said that she embracing her status as a single woman, and is ready to move on. She says she looks forward to the future, and can hopefully put all this behind her.
